Nicki Minaj is the hottest thing to hit the hip hop scene since Lil Kim in the mid 90's. And she's took over the rap world with a flair and a swagger that makes you forget that she hasn't even dropped an album yet.
No wonder myriads of her female fans, she affectionately calls them her 'barbies', are doing everything they can to walk, talk, act, and dress like the Harajuku Barbie.
Of course it's a well known fact that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all the young woman walking around looking like Nicki Minaj clones are surely doing it out of a deep love for her and her positive 'step your cookies up message'. However, even the best intentions have been known to backfire and have horrible consequences.
Lately it seems that most of the Nicki Lewinsky's (yet another Nicki Minaj nickname, but not for the reason you might think) imitators seem to be, well how can I put this gently, not the type of girls anyone would want to have a menage with.
Yes, I understand Nicki Minaj's message that all woman are beautiful and should be empowered and take charge of their lives. I totally agree. However I would like to point out that some of these woman have inner beauty and perhaps they should leave impersonating one of the most beautiful women in hop hop to someone else.
All I'm saying is that before you go out and buy the black stretch pants and the butt pads you should stop and look in the mirror.
Ask yourself "will going out an buying a black wig or dying part of my weave pink really be paying homage to Nicki Minaj or will it just make be look like a hooker from the 1980's".
Seriously ladies just because you put a Barbie chain around your neck does not make you sexy. You have to actually be sexy.

Well I'll tell you why it's my business. I am a Nicki Minaj aka Nicki da Ninja superfan. I have all her mixtapes, I watch all her videos on Youtube, I regularly post and reply on Nicki Minaj forums, and I write articles and hubs about her whenever I can.
It's safe to say I spend at least 23% of my day thinking about Nicki Minaj.
One of my dreams is to meet Ms. Minaj one day. So when I'm out in public and I see someone who looks like her I get all excited, my heartrate jumps and certain regions of my body go to Defcon 1.
Now imagine the letdown my body goes through when not only is it NOT Nicki Minaj but it's not even a hot impersonation of Nicki Minaj. It's like telling a kid there's no Santa and not giving him any presents fro Christmas.
In conclusion I just want to say that while I do think all the Barbie clones are a bit much, I still have to give all the ladies who are doing it their props.
You wouldn't catch me in public imitating my favorite rapper. (How does one impersonate Playa Fly?)
I guess it shows true character and self assurance to even attempt a stunt like that. I just think that as with all things boundaries are needed. There is such a thing as going too far...
And now just so you don't think I'm a total jerk, I'll leave you with a Nicki Minaj wannabe that I do approve of.

Ok so what if girls want to be just like Nicki Minaj they cant but they can immitate her but the can never be her. Not being negative or nothing cause i want to be just like her because i had got my hair done and i had some hot pink tracks in and i had got it again for my birthday and i went to georgia (cause I am from mississippi)with and i got so many complements and it was very cute and also i had "haterz" hating but i didnt let it get to me. But I really love her and I have her all over my wall and i have all the magazines with her and drake and other artists and also i my clothes made with her on it. That's how much I love her and her music. To tell the truth not just saying to be saying but I used to listen to Lil Kim and I really couldn't relate to her music i guess because Nicki Minaj is in our time and Lil Kim was in the years when we were little. But with all due respect not Dissing Lil Kim you had your shine time but now it's time for someone to have their shine time in this time of year and that's Nicki Minaj!!!! That's all!!!
